This page states plainly what Protocol is built to do and what it is not. We publish it because anyone evaluating us — a coach, a client, a clinic's procurement team, a regulator — deserves a direct answer rather than an inference drawn from marketing copy.
Protocol is a wellness and optimization platform. It helps healthy people, and the coaches and practitioners who work with them, to track, understand and improve fitness, nutrition, sleep, recovery and healthy longevity.
It is a tool for organising information and supporting coaching. The coach brings the judgement; Protocol brings the record, the structure and the reminders.
Protocol does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, condition or symptom. It is not a medical device, it is not a clinical decision support system, and it is not a substitute for a qualified healthcare professional.
Specifically, Protocol does not:
Where Protocol displays laboratory results, biomarkers or wearable data, it shows where a value sits and how it is moving over that person's own history. Reference ranges are shown as the laboratory printed them. That is reference data, not an assessment. Turning a number into a clinical conclusion is a different act, and it belongs to a doctor.
Any result that concerns you is worth discussing with a qualified healthcare professional. Protocol is designed to help you have that conversation better informed, not to replace it.
Protocol works with wellness and trait genetics only — how someone responds to training, how they process particular nutrients, traits relevant to sleep and recovery. We deliberately do not offer consumer disease-risk genetic interpretation.
Where Protocol describes a supplement, it describes how that supplement supports or helps maintain a normal bodily function. It does not present any supplement as treating, preventing or curing a named condition. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
Protocol uses AI to help coaches draft plans, summaries and messages. AI-drafted material is reviewed by the coach before it reaches a client, and the same limits on this page apply to every word the AI writes. Where content was drafted by AI, we say so.
Protocol is not monitored, and it is not an emergency service. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact your local emergency number or your doctor immediately.
